Mustard Seed visit today

Today I was invited to come visit the Mustard Seed in Brandon, MS! The Mustard Seed is a Christian community for mentally challenged adults who spend their day painting, participating in Bells of Faith (Handbell Choir) and community service projects. Today I was touched and moved by their sweet generosity and loving smiles and lots of hugs, hugs, hugs (which I enjoyed the most:) ). The residents presented me with a poster that I will take on my journey to Mrs. America. Thankyou Mustard Seed, Staff and residents! I had a blast!!!

I am so excited about The Mrs. America Pageant!! I have already gained so much from this experience! I could not prepare for such a prestigious event without my family and friends! They have truly made me feel like a queen. I have met some outstanding people on this journey! From the night I was crowned I became good friends with Mrs. Tennessee, Letitia Carpenter. She is such an inspiration to me and cannot wait to room with her at nationals! I feel so lucky to have her by my side! I must also say that our Director's Bob and Delayna Bridges are OUTSTANDING! I am blessed to have these earth angels in my life. As Mrs. America approaches I am counting the days and hoping that I do not forget anything!!:) Please have a safe trip to Arizona and I will see you there!! MRS. AMERICA OR BUST! :)

We are COMBATING ASTHMA at ASTHMA BOOT CAMP!!

This past week I served as Staff Nurse at Camp Wheeze Away! This camp is for children suffering from asthma put on by the American Lung Association. I had so much fun!! Even though I am not as young as the campers I too suffer from Asthma and enjoyed being a kid again! From morning meds to tug a war in the big field....we were on a mission to Combat Asthma! This camp is so important to our youth suffering with this disease. They were taught how to clean and take care of their equipment, know what triggers their asthma and that Doctors and Nurses are their friends. I can't wait to help next year!!
